Jennings Family
John Jennings born 7 October 1724, died ca. 1800 came
from England written in a deposition with Bible Records
filed in Wilson family file at Montgomery County Historical
Society, Montgomery Co. MD. He married Sarah Beasley born
ca.1741, died 17 May 1791. They had the following children:
Elizabeth married William Potter, Ann married George Wilson
& Thomas Sparrow, Sarah married Benjamin Nicols, John
Jr., married Ruth Boyd, Mary married Abraham Brown, Rachel
married Harmon Hall, Margaret married Samuel Brown, Abagail
married Samuel Brown when her sister died, George married
Elizabeth "Betsy" Brown. The Census of Frederick
County 1776 Northwest Hundred lists John (56y), Sarah
(36y) and his family. This area of Frederick became Rockville
(area of Manor County Club), Montgomery County, MD.
I have information on all of the children except Rachael
who married Harmon Hall. She married in Shenandoah Co.
VA, but may have moved westward or to KY.
My ancestor John Jennings (Jennens) Jr., born 27 November
1769, married, 28 January 1809, Ruth Boyd, Frederick County,
MD, Ruth born ca. 1780. After living for a year at Brownsville,
Washington Co., MD where his brother George resided, he
moved to Shenandoah Co., VA. John is found in the Census
1810 MD, 1820 Shenandoah Co, and 1840 Warren Co. VA. This
area known as Browntown became Warren County, VA in 1840.
They had following children: Lloyd Thomas Jennings was
born in 3 April 1812,married Mary C. Summers (Somers)9
June 1840, and he died 6 June 1902. His wife Mary born
7 July 1822, died 12 February 1901, a sister Amanda married
Addison Watkins,and stayed in area. Another sister Ruth
married John Williams and moved to Parkersburg, WVA, a
third sister Mary was handicapped and lived with Frances
Boyd in 1850 Warren Co. Census. I have information on
most and their children.

second his daughter Mary E. "Lillie" who married
Aurelius B. Lawson, the third is another photo of Mary
E., the fourth is Aurelius B. Lawson, and the fifth is
Aurelius. The sixth photo is Sarah Catherine, daughter
of Lloyd, who married Hugh Leach, seventh photo is son
Issac Newton Jennings, eighth photo is Nancy Tucker Miller
wife of Issac N. Jennings, and the ninth is son, Lawrence
Edwin "Clinton" Jennings who married Sarah Elizabeth
Hartley, and Ida Belle Winsburrow. And lastly, is Isaac,
Ira L. Beaty (grandfather of actor Warren Beatty and Shirley
McLaine), and John Baldwin of Front Royal, Warren Co.,VA.

Winsburrow.
